Janine makes jewellery in hand forged silver and silver with gold wire detail, oxidised where appropriate. Each piece is individually handmade using traditional techniques to produce unique contemporary designs, whether as a piece from her current design ranges, or a one off commission.

She draws her influences from the organic lines of natural forms, combined with a lifelong fascination for the artefacts of ancient cultures and the marks left on them by their makers. Recently Janine has made a range of jewellery, created as a response to the urban cityscapes of her surroundings.

Janine was born in North Yorkshire and studied at Manchester and Sheffield schools of Art and Design, gaining a BA(HONS) in silver jewellery in 1973. She has held various teaching posts, as well as opening a retail business in the late 70s to sell her work.

She has successfully exhibited at the British Craft Trade Fair for several years and her work can be found in shops and galleries throughout the U.K.
